Senate Bill 1070 in Arizona?
This bill became law only in Arizona … here is in a nutshell: The new immigration law requires any person to whom the police suspect of being illegally in the country to produce "an alien registration document, as a card residence or other proof of citizenship such as a passport or driver's license in Arizona. It also makes it illegal to impede the flow of traffic by day laborers gather for the job. A laborer who was picked for the job, thus preventing traffic would also be committing a criminal act. What do you think? Is it racial discrimination?
I will not give my opinion on this. I will only say that the Obama administration is studying to see if it is legal for the state approval of the law. They insist that legislation of this nature should be addressed at the federal level – not statewide.
